Default Do the Apinate Dressings use manuka honey?

This is a question emailed in to us that thought would be useful for others to see as well:

Does the pack of apinate dressings use MANUKA honey? It mentions Manuka prior to ordering but doesn't on the pack or product only Medihoney.

Response:

Yes, they do contain manuka honey. Specifically they contain medical grade manuka honey, that has been sterilised. Medihoney is a specialist brand for the medical grade products, and as part of the regulatory approvals for it there are different regulations (from different countries) that influence what is on the packaging. Hence it states 'Antibacterial Honey' on the pack - and although it is not something we are part of, I believe that it would be submitted for approval under the botanical name of the honey, rather than the common name of Manuka.

See the Medihoney products here.
