The ManukaCare 18+ - the sterilised tubes of manuka honey for wound use - come in a "positive flow" tube. This is to make it easier for the honey to come out, so you won't have to squeeze too hard, and therefore easier to apply to a wound area.
However a result of having these specialist tubes is that in some cases there is a spurt of honey on first opening. A warning label has been added to both ends of the box that the tube comes in, but some people seem to miss this and get a surprise. Please just use a little caution when first opening each tube. |

The previous issue with some tubes of the ManukaCare spurting some honey on opening should now be resolved.
There is now a new tube, which is no longer of the 'postive flow' design. You may need to squeeze a little more at the end of the tube, but the surprise 'spurts' when opening should be much reduced. ManukaCare has also now been approved as a medical device, and now carries the CE mark (0805). It is also now allowed to state on its packaging its benefit for reducing the risk of infection from bacteria including MRSA. Last edited by Admin; 30-12-2009 at 01:19 PM. |
